This is an old riddle, but still a good one, and rather interesting if you’ve never heard it before. See if you can figure it out:

An Arab sheik tells his two sons to race their camels
to a distant city to determine who will inherit his fortune.

The one whose camel is slowest will win.

The brothers, after wandering aimlessly
for days, ask a wise man for advice.

After hearing (and heeding) the advice, they jump on
the camels and race as fast as they can to the city.

What advice did the wise man give?

HERE’S the accepted answer.

  1. I thought for sure the answer would be that the camels would be administered an IQ test at the distant city.

  2. I figured that the father died.

  3. This puzzle is older than me.

  4. The Camel’s NAME is Wednesday!!!…oh wait…wrong riddle

  5. “Switch camels.”

  6. not to mention that every day they spend aimlessly wandering, more of the father’s fortune is being spent.

  7. Man, this is an old one, but I finally know the answer! They just switch camels.

  8. I would have named the camel “Slowest.” That seems easier.
