OK, reading this after watching the Yip Yips, all, uh, I could think was the old Sesame Street song “We all live in a Capital I/ in the middle of the desert/ in the center of the sky…”

Comics take it even further… in proper lettering, the I for first-person pronoun always has the bars at top and bottom, but bars are never used when the letter ‘I’ is capitalized for other reasons.

Or could do away with first person pronoun altogether. Or pronouns altogether. Not formal. Quicker though, to be true. Couldn’t write scholarly article. Would get laughed at.

ich think that ich will go back to the Old English original. It appears much less pretentious in my writing.
