The vast properties owned and operated by the National Park Service are representative of the rich, natural diversity which makes the United States so unique a country. From desert landscapes to picturesque valleys with crystal lakes to snow-capped mountains, you can hike, boat, climb and camp in areas specifically designated for your recreational enjoyment.
How many of our national parks are you familiar with? We’ll give you the name of a national park, and you tell us where it’s located. Then you’ll find some national park trivia on the quiz results page. Let us know how well you did in the comments, or drop an anecdote about a memorable experience at one of our national parks.
Take the quiz: National Parks
I got 60%.. Not too shabby. I love Nat’l parks! I took my niece and nephews to Mammoth Caves, Hot Springs, the Oaklahoma City memorial and the St. LouisArch this summer… We had a blast!

I guess all those road trips with my mother have (sort of) paid off. Thought my score would be higher than 70% but there were some hard ones!

I stink! I only got 4 right. I need to get cracking on my geography!

I got 8 of 10, I thought I would stink at it! I knew a couple of the parks, but since my job is nationwide, I knew more of the names just by association with the local towns or counties with the same names..

I got 8 out of 10…not too shabby.
My husband proposed to me at sunrise on August 13, 2005 on the top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia Nation Park! We will be celebrating our second wedding anniversary this year (however, not at a national park.)

I got an 8 out of 10 (mostly by luck.)
On August 13, 2005 my husband proposed to me at the top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia Nation Park in Bar Habor, ME! We have been married now for almost 2 years.

I got 8 out of 10. Not too terrible. I happen to live in a state that houses 2 major National Parks and have visited several of the others…..

60%, at least I know some of them. Although my mom would have nailed this quiz. She once earned a free drink on a flight home for knowing what National Park the plane was currently flying over. The stewardess was impressed that my mom was flying single with three little kids, who all happened to be sleeping, that she kept bringing my mom drinks. On another note, Teddy Roosevelt once called the Badlands “Poe’s landscape come to life.” (At least if my memory is functioning it was Teddy and not FDR.)

I only got 4 because I’ve been to those four. Eesh. I would love to go to Crater Lake though…that looks gorgeous.

Only 50%.
The only one I’ve been to is Carlsbad Caverns as a kid. It was pretty spectacular though.

“If you can’t flee to the Cleve”? – what does that mean? Seriously, that’s just ridiculous.

70% — not bad since I’ve never been to any of them… Guess I need to get cracking on my national parks. I’ve been to a lot of state parks, though.

I got them all! I have not been to many of these, but my life goal is to visit all of the National Parks. Almost halfway there!
