Sitcoms taught me a lot about the working world. Dr. Jason Seaver (Growing Pains) proved that working from home was an option. Sondra & Elvin (The Cosby Show) helped me scratch ‘wilderness store’ from my potential career list. Darren Stevens (Bewitched) inspired my ad agency phase. And Mr. Belvedere (Mr. Belvedere) introduced me to the butler concept. Today’s quiz asks you to remember how TV characters made their livings.

  1. When I saw Kirk I was looking for the cracker factory job, but it wasn’t a choice. :(

  2. Quizmaster Brett Savage just emailed me this great line from Kirk’s cracker factory firing:

“Look Kirk, crackers are a family business. Maybe single people eat crackers…we don’t know. Frankly, we don’t want to know. It’s a market we could do without.”

  3. I think we saw Vera towards the end of the series, but it was only her legs visible through the window going up the stairwell outside Cheers.

  4. HAH, I totally guessed on all but one and still scored 9/10!

Jason: I love that line from the Simpsons.
