the poor old fella who loses his truck in a flood and gets so soaked trying to save it he looks like a poor wet dog.

From Vista, Ca. In an early episode when San Diego Sheriff’s had the brightest, ugliest green paint job on their cars. Deputies are talking to a guy about possible drugs that they took from him, which are now on the hood of the patrol vehicle. Bad guy sweeps everything off the hood of the car and tries to get away. Deputies tackle and cuff him, put him in the back seat then you see the deputies using credit cards trying to get enough white powder off the hood of the car for evidence. So funny!! Looked like they were trying to set up lines on the hood of a cop car.

I’ve heard that ‘Cops’ is a very popular show in prison/jails. The inmates enjoy critiquing the mistakes the perps make.

I have grown up on a steady diet of “Cops” and before that, “Rescue 911″ and I have to say – that’s the reason I’ve decided to pursue law enforcement as a career. Well, not the sole reason – but to say that “Cops” didn’t influence me to some extent would be a lie.

Not a single mention of the episode of My Name is Earl (actually 2 episodes) when COPS filmed live on location in Camden? I have never laughed so hard at a TV show as I did when Earl and Joy get caught having sex in the back of a car. Earl starts running down the alley naked, trips, and falls. He yells “Ow! I skinned my pecker!”

I work in a prison and hear these same stories from the criminal’s point of view all day. Have to give the officers credit for running up on a scene and having no idea what they are walking in to. Though domestic violence and drug deals are nothing to truly laugh about from a societal point of view, it sure makes darn good TV viewing!

COPS is just depressing to me after a while. I couldn’t do their job and deal with all those lowlifes.

Have you ever noticed how COPS never shows any suspect getting away? One episode did but they caught him later in the episode. They must have an agreement not to show people getting away.

My idea for a reality show is the contestants try and get away from cops, but the liabilities would probably never allow it.

2 men fight in the street. Cops break it up. They ask one guy why they are fighting. Guy says “he hit my sister. Ain’t nobody gonna hit my sister UNLESS HE’S MARRIED TO HER!”
