My New Second-Favorite Website

I’m contractually obligated to place mentalfloss.com atop any formal lists of Favorite Websites. But Cake Wrecks—”When professional cakes go horribly, hilariously wrong”—just vaulted into the two-spot. Here are two cakes, with commentary from Jen:

Thanks to Justin Feinstein for sending me the link. Justin runs my fifth-favorite site, Blank is Like Blank: Analogies to live by. If you have a link we should see, send your suggestion to flossylinks@gmail.com.

  1. Starbucks is like that crazy ex-girlfriend you still get together with:

You hate yourself for going back, but the familiarity makes it convenient, and until you find something better, it’s all you’ve got.

I have a new goal: break up with Starbucks for good. Thanks, Justin.

  2. Mmmmmm, cake. The pregnancy ones are a hoot.

  3. I love this website!! I worked at a grocery store bakery for 2 years, and I swear I saw this kind of stuff almost every week! The sad part is, the decorators don’t seem to get much of the complaints received-the clerk (aka me) does.

  4. So funny. The no sexual harrassment one cracked me up.

  5. People are staring at me in my office Jason, I can’t stop laughing! This website is HILARIOUS!

  6. Oh my gosh…I LOVE this site. I have been visiting it for about 3 months now after I found it on blogger. I’m glad that so many people will be able to find it here on Mental_floss now….

  7. Thanks so much for sharing this site! My sister’s baby shower cake from almost 5 years ago had us cracking up, as it declared It IS BOY!!

    I must find that picture…

  8. HAHA. Oh man. I remember when I first saw the “Cake That Started It All” several months ago, I just about died. I’m thoroughly amused by this site.

  9. What are your third and fourth favorite websites?

  10. My husband and I got to the one with the babies writing carrots, and he just HAD to write a blog post of his own highlighting that cake. Hilarious!!
