I like true crime as a whole. Not all of it is quirky; some of it is just plain brutal. The article was as well-written as any other on this site.

I am surprised at how negative some of these comments are. I guess I didn’t realize that many readers are looking for uplift in their info bits. But then again, this site posted pictures of living people posed with dead ones and similar items that some might think “gruesome”. Not sure I see the difference – to me, all of it is an enthusiastic quest for knowledge.

As you may guess, I vote for more true crime of whatever stripe.

IMHO I vote against the gritty stuff. I like mental_floss light-hearted nerdy enthusiastic approach to just knowing stuff. This violent crime stuff is everywhere on TV and the net. I say stick to what makes you unique.

Yeah you don’t have to do it every time but once in a while a real gritty story isn’t bad.

I liked the change of pace. it was clear that this was not going to be fluffy article. It is nice that MF will take on the gritty as well as the interesting, smart and funny. I don’t want to see a huge uptick in gritty things, but few a week would be good.

Sounds very similar to what happened in Knoxville, TN a couple of years ago. Makes me wonder if the thugs in the Knoxville case got their ideas from this one?

I thought this was very interesting and loved reading something different here! I say to go ahead and post these every once in a while!

If folks don’t want to read it they don’t have to… but some of us don’t mind and enjoy the change of pace :)

I don’t like the topic of some of the articles posted here, so I don’t click on them. Other folks can do the same with articles of this topic.

This was not about colour.
This was about two criminal animals who now get a nice easy death by needle.
These creatures have relinquished their right to life and should be hanged in public. I’m from a country where the death penalty was abolish in the 50′s I believe, what a mistake that was. Murderers and drug dealers should hang.
End of.
As for the appropriateness of the article for this website which is normally so light hearted, well I understand the opinions of both sides and myself think that maybe yeah, MF should remain ‘clean’ or at the very least should have a well defined area for this kind of stuff.
