For one, Manute Bol would have been a much more interesting choice based on his life outside of basketball than the guy who is most notable for having starred in my giant.

Bol and Bradley were only 7′ 6″ Muresan was 7” 7″ – so why mention the also rans?

I know you got Gheorghe Muresan, but quick hits on Manute Bol (who once scored 6 three pointers in an NBA game)and Shawn Bradley (a Mormon who spent a year as a missionary in Australia) could have been mentioned.

Sandy had actually held the record two years longer. Her height was certified by Guinness in October 1974, though she didn’t appear in the book until the 1976 edition.

Stadnyk just lost his record because he refused to be measured. Most people feel he exaggerated his height and that he is only around 7′6″. The record gords back to Bao, altho there’s another Chinese man reported to be taller. Thanks for the nice mention of my friend, Sandy Allen. My book about her high school years will be out in Nov. titled “World’s Tallest Woman: The Giantess of Shelbyville High.”
