Tobin Bell
I would like the Daniel Day-Lewis print. The man simply fascinates me. He’s such a soft-spoken man in reality, but his recent roles are, what appears to me, exact opposites of who he is; loud, boisterous, and thinking only for himself.
I also like the layout of the shot. It’s the contrast of the white background with some warmth from the sunlight and the cold, black metal chair he sits on. It’s very similar to how I see him in comparison to his roles, as stated above. There are two sides to each person and Day-Lewis has found an outlet for that darker side through the roles he chooses.

5. it’s a guess, but i’m going with malcolm mcdowell.
I’d like the Malcolm McDowell photo since I spent a good 30 minutes at work trying to find out if I was right in my guess. It would show that hard procrastination does pay in the long run.

Perhaps I need to learn how to read. I thought this was a Scranton print as in the city The Office is located in. I was like, yes! I want a Scranton print, as long as Jim (John Krasinski) is in it, shirtless, asking me to marry him. :D
And to imagine, I always rocked at Book It in elementary school.

Tobin Bell. I think his image has come so far since I first saw him as the albino in “The Firm,” and his print shows how dark his image has become since the “Saw” series started. It’s almost as if he’s turning his back on the actor he used to be and moving towards the horror icon of Jigsaw that he’s become. It’s definitely a very somber and surreal print.

The Tobin Bell print is my first choice because the composition is amazing, and I love all of the space. Although the Lewis shot is emotional, the black and white treatment in the Tobin shot just adds a whole new element of starkness and sadness, and I love having an emotional response to a photograph because it’s not easy for most photographers to capture that.
Whew. I can’t believe I squeezed that into two sentences.

The Daniel Day-Lewis image is more than a picture to me. It is a story told with one click of the shutter. Deep in thought: content, troubled. Plus, I’m getting married, and my fiancee thinks my decorating style is primitive bachelor.

I would love to have the Jonah Hill / Michael Cera print. At my house, I have several of the classic “Sears Family Portrait-esque” staged shots like that of Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly from the StepBrothers posters framed. I have a couple of others as well and it is always funny when people go to look at them and it takes them a minute to register that they are actors. I think this photo (which is amazing by the way, I love Cera’s expression!) would be awesome on my wall!

I want the print of Daniel Day-Lewis, as an aspiring young photographer, I am looking for all the inspiration I can get. If i get my hands on a print that an artist has put their time and effort into I can seek inspiration from it every day, and I need all that I can get. I plan to pursue a career in Photography and hope to become an artist in the subject one day.

I would love to have the Jonah Hill/Michael Cera print. The photograph cuts through all the crazy dialog and quick wisecracks and shows the kind of relationship these two have. Plus, how can you not love these guys?

If you meant any print, I’d love the one from his website of the lone marine because of the contrast of the Virgin Mary tattoo on his forearm and the serious looking weapon he’s carrying. Otherwise, the Tobin Bell print because the photo captures him in a contemplative mood, yet I’m drawn to the lines and trying to figure out what they are.

In no particular order:
Daniel Day-Lewis
Amy Adams
Ken Davitian

Jonha Hill & Michael Cera
I would be proud to put any of these prints on my wall. They all have a wonderful sense of space, color, and give the viewer an almost tactile sense of the subject’s personality. I like his work.

I am particularly enamored of the shots of Jonah Hill and Michael Cera, and the shot of Daniel Day-Lewis.
I would rather have the former for a couple of reasons. I have a huge and crazy desire to write comedy for a living. Jonah Hill is one of a few inspirations for me toward that goal… I can’t imagine “Jonah Hill” and “inspiration” often appear in a sentence together, but there that is. Also, the photo really captures the spirit of their friendship, as well as a humor and sort of world-weariness that is intriguing in the eyes of guys who are so young.
I’d place this next to my computer, where I write.
Random… My captcha says “potential Abdul”. I’m a bit scared.

I love the Daniel Day-Lewis one because it captures this moment that makes you wonder what he’s thinking of. It’s so thoughtful and introspective and a wonderful composition. I could stare at that for a very long time.

I would like the Hill/Cera print, because I like to imagine what exactly it is that they are seeing off camera that has caused those particular facial expressions.

The Daniel Day-Lewis print would bring me full circle: I had a “The Last of the Mohicans” movie poster in my room as a young teen. Today, it’s not a great piece of decor for a grownup.

I don’t think it’s much of a challenge at this point to identify the subjects, but I’ll do it because you asked so nicely.
Jonah Hill andMichael Cera
Daniel Day-Lewis
Ken Davitian (I thought it was Pavarotti at first…)
Amy Adams
Tobin Bell
If you’re offering ANY print, I think the Miranda July print would go nicely in my room. I’m a college student, and my room is decorated like one. It would class it up. Plus, she’s awesome. I can’t help but immediately absorb all of her work.
Of the ones shown yesterday, I like the Daniel Day-Lewis print. But I wouldn’t get it for myself. A good friend admires him a lot, and she would really appreciate this picture. Her room is covered with posters and prints.
Even if I don’t get a print, that’s okay because you’ve shown me some inspiration. I’m a photographer, and I really like this guy’s work. A lot. Thank you.

I like all of the photos, and I think this artist is truly talented . . . with Jonah and Michael, the duo speaks about absolute friendship and the way two people have different strengths even in the way they handled themselves. Daniel’s picture is just stark in the sense that you don’t know what he’s contemplating. Ken looks almost mobsterish and sad at the same time. And Amy reminds me of my daughter in a few years–eyes wide, but not as innocent as she the characters she’s portrayed on the screen. Tobin’s print is just engrossing. But the army guys . . . if they were thrown in just to mix things up, then they sure portrayed the unity and the uncertainty of where and what they are.

I would like the Jonah Hill print for both the content and the composition. It’s a strong composition because of the frontality of the figures and the loud wall behind them. But perhaps the content is more important-it is funny. Humor is something that gets left out of high art way to often.

I love the portrait of Amy Adams. It shows vulnerability and confidence while the close shot adds a level of intimacy. I think all of the pieces are beautifully composed and the Day-Lewis one is particularly compelling but there’s a warmth in the Adams piece that I didn’t feel in the others. It connected and I think that’s what great photography is about.

I would have to go with the Tobin Bell photo because I think it is an incredible portrait that evokes a mood that most portraits fail to capture. It is a simple composition that draws you in and really makes you want to know more about the person.

Ok, if we’re restricted to THESE pics, then give me the ‘Daniel Day-Lewis’ one; not because he looks overly attractive in that one (in my opinion, he really hasn’t since ‘Last of the Mohicans’).
It’s because the tattoos give him the look of Bradbury’s illustrated man – each one can probably tell its own story, just like a picture paints a thousand words!
