Ah, that one was easy. At first glance, I thought there would be 3 variable (the numerical order in which each order was placed) but then I saw the typo.
But they do, Carl! My favorite seafood-on-a-bun in the world, the McDonald’s Filet O’ Fish, has a half a slice of good old American cheese.
Now that you mention it, however, I don’t think I’d ever order a fish sandwich anywhere and ASK for cheese on it. I can imagine there are plenty of those who do, however.
Whether one might have cheese on a fish sandwich is not a factor in this puzzle. The last clue tells us that Jill and Jude had the chicken sandwich and the cheeseburger, and the second tells us that Jill didn’t have the cheeseburger.
Starting from the last clue and working up, this one was VERY easy.
The first time I did it, I got all of the answers right, except I wasn’t really paying attention and I had Jude eating two sandwiches while everyone else only had one. I just hope Jude was picking up the tab…
Jeff – Hamburger
Jill – Chicken
John – Fish
Jude – Cheeseburger

Am I the only one who didn’t know fish sandwiches never have cheese?

That last clue made it very easy.
Carl, doesn’t a tuna melt have cheese on it? I don’t eat tuna, but I thought the cheese is what made it melty.
