Yes, they’re all consonants, but that’s not what we’re looking for. And yes, I’m certain some of you will find alternate answers. And that’s okay. Because I’m good enough, I’m smart enough… Sorry, I was channeling Stuart Smalley there for a moment. (I have that right; I paid to see Stuart Saves His Family in the theater. To be fair, I was in love at the time and wasn’t interested in actually watching the film as much as I was being in a dark, empty theater.)

What (specifically) do these three
two-letter groupings have in common?

1.  B-G

2.  P-T

3.  T-N

HERE is the solution.

  1. B-T, since “bot” has become a word
B-D, if you accept slang “bod”
G-T, w/2 slang meanings for “git”
M-D, if “med” is okay for medicine
    good morning to me

  2. All are words with all vowels: bag/pat/tan, beg/pet/ten, big/pit/tin, bog/pot/ton, bug/put/tun (if you accept tun…)

  3. I guessed correctly! But um… What’s a ‘tun’? *searches dictionary.com*

  4. Wikipedia has a number of entries for “tun”, the most popular being an antiquated unit of measurement. Who knew?

  5. Ooh! I though of another:

    F-N

And, yes, fon and fen are both words!
