Great article. I listenned to The Giant Pool of Money about 6 weeks ago and have been reccomending it to everone. It truly is the best explanation of what is going on that I have heard.

Yeah, I’ve been listening to all the episodes of planet money since it’s inception and I found the two TAL episodes very enlightening. I just worry about one thing when it comes to these; it seems that after listening to anything concerning this subject I am on the verge of panic. Here’s the thing, I’m onyl 26 years old and I know that in my situation I should be buying buying buying. Everthing is on sale right now, right? But these show make me worry that, well, what if the stuff I’m supposed to be buying buying buying doesn’t exist in a year or two. Happy toxic borrowing and lending everyone.

I am in the financial industry and I think I have finally figured out the problem. Biff Tanner has led us on the alternate time line and mayhem is going to ensue. Hopefully, Marty McFly will be able to correct all this! Alright that is not true, but we have a better shot with that than Paulson saving us!

Just yesterday, actually, I sent a spammy email to everyone I know recommending the This American Life episodes and the Planet Money podcast. I feel so much more informed after listening to them, though I’ll admit, also a bit more scared about the scope of the whole situation.

I remember hearing Alex Blumberg and being totally confused as I knew This American Life wasn’t scheduled at that time. He does sound ridiculously like Ira Glass!
