I am disturbed to see that the Nebraska Safe haven law is being abused and I cannot imagine kids will stop being abandoned here after the dire financial situation of the US. The family of 9 kids were abandoned by a father who wasn’t really that great anyhow- after he left the kids he was seen putting bags into his car to run away with his new girlfriend- the one he got after the kids’ mother died. The bio-mother was a piece of work too- she never cleaned the house and just wanted to make more babies even though she didn’t take care of them. Nebraska HHS had been in their home more than once. The oldest (19)was forced to take care of them and when she became a student at Creighton the father decided to dump them at the Medical Center’s emergency room. I feel sorry for the oldest kids, who must really feel like crap.

August, I have a skinny vocal cat too. He actually answers us when we say hi to him. He’s half Siamese, which I’m told is what accounts for his vocal-ness. Maybe your gray guy is Siamese too.

The worst thing about the cat story is that the cat is 13 years old, it’s going to die soon.

They got the operation so it could meow its final amends?

I love hearing my cats meow (except for the skinny gray guy, he could stand to be a little LESS vocal), but I would even consider spending that kind of money to regain their ability to meow, as long as they’re still able to eat and breathe and everything.

I love my 2 cats very much and would have no problem spending money on their HEALTH…but not being able to meow?? What a loonie.
