I personally hate election time. I know it's important and all, but it really makes nerves tense and a lot of relationships sour. My boss is a big supporter of one of the candidates (I won't say which) and he is constantly coming in and complaining about what ludicrous things the other party's candidate has done on that day or the previous evening. I don't actually agree with him on all counts so it makes it tough. Politics in the workplace? Not a good thing either.
