I am definitely picking up this book. There is a presidential type shop near the Hall of Presidents? I must now redo my vacation plans for next summer!!

I’d have to stop and exercise for 2 hours everyday if I had I special food perks too!! :)

The bowling alley in the White House is one of two in the entire District of Clolumbia. The other is located on the top floor of the George Washington University Student Center.

Can’t bring myself to go into the Hall of Presidents – not even on a super hot day!

And no one else questions the bad food choices in the White House? No wonder so many Americans are overweight – the president and staffers themselves eat poorly! Soda, M&Ms, and french fries?

Fun article. Free Diet Cokes are the best perk! I have a box of M&Ms with the Presidential Seal, too. And a little box of Russell Stover candies. Ate them both, of course (and mine were old, too!). Got them from a co-worker who’s brother is an accountant (or something) for W. I’d rather not have the box with W’s signature on it, but it’s fun none the less…and something not many people have!

Not so fast about the swimming pool: it’s the Press Briefing Room now. The pool is still technically there but it’s used as a crawl space, not for swimming.

my cousin worked in the white house under clinton and we got a behind the scenes tour, even inside the command room where they survey the rest of the planet, and i STILL have my unopened box of m&ms… lol.

they’re apparently peanut… but it’s not like i’ll eat them any time soon… they’re OLD…

Oh yeah, watching all the other presidents in the Hall of Presidents is fascinating. After I saw the show a couple of times, I found myself watching the animatronics nod in agreement, fidget in their seats, make eye contact with each other, look in the direction of each president as he was called during roll call,…..

OK, I’m a little weird.

Carter did put solar panels on the White House in the 70s during that energy crisis. Reagan had them taken out.

I hit the Magic Kingdom about once a year. I absolutely must visit the Hall of Presidents and the Haunted Mansion every time I go. I agree. The Hall of Presidents rocks! I love watching the animatronics of the characters that are NOT in the spotlight.
