GEORGIE!!! Freaky…I would have had a panic attack and run away..fast.

When I was little, we used to have annual Legend of Sleepy Hollow watchings at school. We’d all gather in the auditorium and sit on the floor and the teachers did this mini dance and song Halloween show before handing out lollipops and settling us down to watch the Disney movie.

I was scared crapless of that movie as a kid. I haven’t seen it in years…*sigh*

When I was a kid, we almost bought an old house in sleepy hollow but the water from the well was bad.

I spent my freshman year of college at Marymount University in Tarrytown. It was an all girls school with a wonderfully old campus. I am absolutely certain that campus is haunted. A lot of odd things happened in the dorms. It is now part of Forhdam and has since been named Fordham at Westchester.

Anyway, I was really excited to learn that Sleepy Hallow was just down the street and was expecting some spectacular Halloween fun. Unfortunately most of the town’s activities were extremely kid friendly and not anywhere close to scary.

We ended up trick or treating around town and got lots of full size candy bars!

The only version of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow I have been exposed to starred Jeff Goldblum as Ichabod Crane. I remember as being slightly comedic. Wish I could see it again!

instead of getting the post-halloween blues, try getting pumped about…Veteran’s Day? its just a week and a half away…and then of course the holdidays just come on strong. maybe they can help you through it.

i just heard from a coworker that his child told him that they aren’t allowed to say “halloween” at (private, christian) school. isnt that the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever heard?

On a trip to NY and PA a few years ago we stumbled on this place. It is SO very cool; some of the most beautiful grave art I’ve seen. I especially love the masolleums built into the hillside.
