I sit at a desk all day, so my chances of dying because of a job-related injury are pretty slim. Fatal paper cut? Out-of-control stapler? Overly sharp pencil? Probably not. But the people on this list are at risk every single day. If one of these happens to be your job, thanks for doing it… and please, be careful! If you’re interested in more, check out the full article from Forbes.

Just out of curiosity. Where does a military front-line job fit in?

4 out of 44 translates into 9090.91 out of 100,000.

You think 4 out of 44 is bad, try 8 out of 42 (Cleveland is both 22nd and 24th, and Obama still isn’t President yet). Four have been assassinated, but four more died of non-bullet-related causes during their terms.

What’s kind of crazy is that young men IN the military have a lower death rate than young men OUTSIDE the military, even factoring in all of the U.S. wars.
Ooh, good recaptcha: accept role

Do astronauts fit under pilots and flight engineers? We’ve lost quite a few, and there never were that many of them.

I always thought elephant trainers had the highest fatality rate. Might be too small of a sample size to qualify

I’m surprised those of us who are office workers don’t die more often from having our heads explode as a consequence of listening to management spew ignorant jargon-filled blather.
