Nice article, Brenna. OMG, I swear, I thought i was the only lonely teenager who called up “The Time Lady”!!!! I guess there were other lonely guys!!
Also there is the great voice-over genius, a very brilliant actor named Frank Welker. Frank is actually the actor who has been in the cumulatively highest-grossing movies of all time, the films he has “appeared” in have out-grossed Harrison Ford and Samuel L. Jackson at the box office.
Frank was the voice of Fred on the original “Scoobie-Doo” cartoons and he is still playing Fred to this day.

James earl Jones deserves a mention here as well. “This..is CBS” as well as being the voice of Darth Vader and so many people trying to emulate him in that role.

Interesting note: Jane Barbe has been on the Simpsons a number of times. Any time they do a joke where there’s a wrong number, etc. the people behind the show try to get her to record it the voiceover.

Charlie O’Donnell died November 1st, 2010. I didn’t he had passed away until Sajak did a very fitting tribute at the end of one show and I teared up…

Excellent article.A few people that also come to mind are Gene Wood(The Family Feud, Super Password),Charlie O’Donnell(Wheel of Fortune),June Foray(Rocky, and Natasha), Jean Vander Pyl (Wilma and Pebbles Flintstone), and Johnny Olson(the ORIGINAL “Come on Down” voice on The Price Is Right, and The Jackie Gleason Show.) My favorites in your wonderful feature are Don La Fontaine and the “TIME LADY”… Jane Barbe. Anyway, Bravo… you did a superb job on this!

The new voice of the Disney Monorail in Orlando is actually Joe Hursh. He has also been the voice of the Daytona 500, The Orlando Magic (commercials) and TBS among others.
