I work at In N Out Burger. There's a different bible quote for each size drink, plus shakes, plus regular burger bags, plus Double Double burger bags. I guess fast food brings one closer to God.

Also, in Detroit we have Mo Cheese and the Knitting Lady at the Red Wings games.

Mo is a guy with season tickets and he's always there, with a homemade hat made out of aluminum foil shaped like the Stanley Cup. He dances.

The Knitting Lady is an elderly woman who has had season tickets for as long as anyone can remember. She sits and knits during the games.

OK, honestly, they are both more interesting than I've portrayed them as.

Jeffrey Maier - Hated by Orioles fans (including myself) but beloved in by Yankees fans for catching an in-play ball that should have been an out, but was called a home run. The umpire, Rich Garcia (one of the best umpires in the game, mind you), totally blew the call and should have ruled the batter out by fan interference. After the game he saw a replay of the play and he admitted the call should have been fan interference. The league blew it also, because even if Maier hadn't caught the ball they said it wasn't catchable...so? Well, it wouldn't have been a home run, it wouldn't have tied the game, it would have been an extra-base hit, nothing more (nobody was on base). Even so, the Orioles' protest of the game was denied.
