I have not personally eaten the microwave chocolate cake, but I have been told that it’s sadly pretty nasty.

If you’re using hot chocolate mix of all things, why not just go all the way and keep a box of chocolate brownie mix on hand? You can mix up a couple of tablespoons of a mix that’s actually meant for this purpose and put the rest back in the cupboard for next time, and it’ll work a lot better.

Ugh, so disapointed in the mug cake recipe. It tastes exactly like it sounds. Baked cocoa mix. Thanks for sending the interesting link. No guts, no glory.

I couldn’t get the game link to work – every time I click the play button all it did was refresh the page.

I made a cake-in-a-mug a few weeks ago when I was um, sort of desparate for something chocolate. It was… ok. Not great, certainly, but it got the job done.
HA! ReCaptcha: Pro butter. Yes, yes I am.

I have made the microwave chocolate cake. I subbed applesauce for 1/2 the oil. I added chocolate chips to it (b/c I had them on hand) and topped it with some whipped cream from a can. It was GOOD. Not mind-blowing, but the effort to output ratio was def. in my favor.

I’m gonna invent a religion where if you smell really bad and are incapable of getting up and taking a shower, then you’re dead.

I made the cake in a mug and enjoyed it.. it might depend on the hot chocolate mix and what you add to it

I *always* substitute applesauce for the oil in baking recipes – and they always come out better! I’ve bookmarked the recipe page..just might try it some day. Cake mixes aren’t common out here, so this may do in a pinch!
