A silly question if I may. The average home uses some 12,000 kilowatt hours of energy per month. Wouldn't all that power surging around you have some sort of effect on your body? There's a lot of electromagnetic radiation all around us, but it's not concentrated in an enclosed living space to the tune of about 100 megajoules a day?

Another interesting idea would be organic batteries. Using the powerful molecular motors found in living cells, create a battery that lasts for years. This way, everything is wireless but we don't have to worry about recharging or changing those batteries for a long, long time.

I love Tesla's story. He was undeniably one of the greatest inventors ever. It was probably a good thing he never sold out, though it is a bit sad he died penniless and alone. However his legacy is as large as mountain. Good luck with the wireless electricity. I wouldn't have thought TV was possible, but it is. I just hope you don't fry me or give me cancer in the process.

Another benefit would be pretty skylines in old cities. We could finally get rid of all the poles full of wires...bummer for the birds though who take pit stops on them.

Are you sure Tesla is dead? According to the latest episode of Sci-Fi Channel show Sanctuary, he's still around as a vampire, making more vampires through use of electricity. What a wacky guy.

Cool article but.. Why would you need your tv and lighting to be wireless? I see this technology complementing, not replacing power cables, just as WiFi complements good old cat-5.

J.P. Morgan quit financing Tesla's Wardencliff project on Long Island when he realized there was no way to meter and 'charge' for wireless electricity (pun intended).

captcha: a somewhat appropriate 'charging edition'

I've been thinking about this too. For my thought, the electricity should be able to trasmited without cable or wire.

However, I just an idea and I don't know how it can be done.

I've been thinking about this idea for several years. Thanks God someone is finally working on it.
