In Florida, a person's primary residence cannot be seized by a creditor or forced for sale under process of any court. The article makes it sound like he got special treatment because of his celebrity status, but what he did was technically legal. Although I have to agree that a more humble man should have sold the property and moved somewhere more sensible.
