When I worked at the public library, I came across a lovely little biography about Thomas Crapper called Flushed with Pride. It was an old book, so I don't know if it is still in print anymore though.

What a Charmin story! I always did wonder if this myth was just a load of sanitation. So, did Mr. Crapper invent the plunger, too? Or is there a John Plunger out there we should mythologize?

I used to live in Pakistan, and have visited the Indus Valley ruins (Mohinjodaro and Harrappa) and they are truly spectacular. They were so ahead of their times not just in plumbing but overall being a modern civilization.

Funny thing is, we never realized what awesome history we were living next too because we studied it in school etc and it lost its significance. But now as a grown up, I really appreciate it.

Thanks for keeping up the "movement" to perpetrate the truth of this matter. Maybe someday soon the myth will be completely "flushed" from the public's perception.
