Not all turkeys live in Disneyland after being pardoned. Most of them end up at Frying Pan Park in Virginia.

NK – I agree with you about Alice’s Resturant. When I was in the marching band in high school we had a Thanksgiving game every year and the band director would have us play it at halftime. I’ll bet most of the people in the stands had absolutely no idea what we were doing.

My favorite tradition is Alice’s Resturaunt. When I was younger I just figured everyone listened to it at noon on Thanksgiving.

Actually, George HW Bush was the first President to give an official presidential pardon to a turkey. The others just didn’t kill them, and I don’t think there’s anything on file indicating Truman even spared a turkey. It’s on Snopes, check it.
