Tonight we’re excited to announce our first foray into the iPhone Application world. Big Fat Lies! is a trivia challenge that presents you with two statements – one is true, the other is blatantly false. Your job is to spot the big fat lie. There are over 1,000 statements across several categories, covering history, science, business, entertainment and more.
So if you’ve got an iPhone and $2.99, head on over to the iTunes Store and let us know what you think. (That link should open up your iTunes and send you right to Big Fat Lies! page of the store. If not, you can search for “Big Fat Lies” and it will come right up.)
The game was developed by Portland’s Night & Day Studios, a fine outfit that employs our own Chris Higgins (and doesn’t protest too loudly when they catch him writing for us on company time).
Update: Big Fat Lies also works with the iPod Touch.
As someone who has been programming this app for a while now, I must say that it’s a good thing. Good for America, good for your iPhone.

Hooray!
And Hooray for Portland biz! :)
You do mean Portland, Oregon, right?

@Holly – yep, Portland, Oregon! We’re in southeast, in a historic firehouse. Look us up & come by sometime!

Downloaded! $3.00 well spent. Now I have something other than a tangram app to keep me up way too late at night.

Bought the App last night, played it all the way to work on the train this morning. Best commute in months!

I’m getting an iPhone after the holidays. I’m going to find out if I can get it now so I have it as soon as I get my new iPhone.

Will this also work on the iPod Touch?

Any plans on making apps for hardware lacking little pictures of fruit on it?

Bre – it does work with the iPod Touch.
Everybody else – I’m not sure what the plans are (if any) for Blackberry development. I know there are a lot of readers with Blackberries, but I don’t know how easy/hard it is to actually develop on that platform. We will look into it though.

what about the T-Mobile G1? will it work on this phone? There’s a t-mobile banner ad at the bottom of the screen!

What about the Instinct?

Kai and Shannon, nope — just iPhone and iPod Touch for now. I guess T-Mobile advertises when people start talking iPhone. :)

I love this endlessly amusing, graphically stunning, not yet award-winning little application! Who did you say programmed it again? Genius!!!

I bought the game yesterday after reading this blog. At the very least, I’d (maybe) be supporting Mental_floss since all I do is read their blog all day at work.
But.
The game is really fun. However, nine times out of ten, I pick the truth…
