Loved the Magoo version.

I read about a college student who went to the campus bookstore and asked the clerk is they had A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. She told him, “He didn’t write songs; he wrote books.”

Peter, I’ve heard of Standiford’s book, the only problem with it is that Dickens chose Christmas as his theme because the holiday was already popular and his market would be pre-existing.

Dickens was pretty shrewd about his audience.

There is a new book out titled “The Man Who Invented Christmas” By Les Standiford, It is the story of how Charles Dickens, was basically broke and wrote A Christmas Carol as a last ditch effort.

I read somewhere several years ago, that Dickens would always write/sleep facing North. He believed it helped tap into his creativity and his dreams.

Michael not only supplied the voice of Scrooge for The Muppet Christmas Carol, he actually was Scrooge.
