The Colossal Squid caught in 2007 near Antarctica has finally been thawed and is on display in New Zealand's national museum in Wellington (Te Papa). I'm going to go check it out on Boxing Day (Dec 26th)!

When caught, it weighed 495 kilos (approx 1k pounds), but has shrunk in the thawing and preserving process.

I've linked Te Papa's website to my name.
