  1. Headline number ten should have been number one.

  2. As a philosopher, I occasionally get taken to task by a sciencey type for what I do. Get rid of all this unverifiable talk about right and wrong, and embrace naturalism, they say, and everything will be right and fair. But would it? The gender equality thing is why many philosophers don’t do that– we’ve looked at what that sort of ethical system would entail, and, excuse the imprecise terms, it just doesn’t seem ~right.~

  3. Shouldn’t Headline #2 have read “outbox” instead of “inbox”?

  4. I actually find it very sad the Matt video was fake. It’s a beautiful video. Bummer.

  5. I cannot believe the gender inequality article.

Yes, people are different. Equal work, equal time, equal ends deserves equal pay.

It sickens me that someone would try to use science to argue against ethics.

  6. @ Orion:

The video is not a fake. At first it seems very possible that it is fake, but as he continues on, especially when mentioning how they put a Boeing airplane in a pool and then just filtered the image, it is easy to tell he is just joking.

    It is all real! :)

  7. Orion, you should watch the linked video. You can skip ahead if you need to.

  8. The Matt video is not a fake. You could tell that his “expose” was a total satire with increasingly incredulous explanations—especially the Boeing plane in the pool and the robots that they put new skins on for every scene.
At first I was horrified that it might be a fake, since it is one of my favorite videos, but then as I continued to watch it became apparent what Matt was doing. Satire is lost on some people, I guess.
