Similar to Brain Age and Brain Academy video games, it gives you a series of activities from simple math to visual analysis. It's a great workout for the brain! I've had Stanza for a while now and I love it as well! I enjoy Brain Toot (there are lite and a pay versions). It's by far the most-used app on my iPhone and has saved my sanity more times than I can count. I love being able to pull it out and kill time in between classes (and, admittedly, the occasional lecture) and it's been a lifesaver when traveling. Being able to put on headphones and escape with music and a book on one little device makes cross-country flights infinitely more tolerable. Being both a book nerd and a music nerd, my iPhone has become almost vital to me; I've gotten so used to it it's hard to believe I ever managed without it. Haven't tried any yet, but hope to soon... There are many apps designed to help you quit smoking as well. Haven’t tried any yet, but hope to soon…
