I was confused about the man in the film seeing them, and the refrence to a spoon for them. I mean, if they’re microscopic…?
Do all cheeses have mites, or only Stilton?
Knowing there are microscopic critters crawling on me even now chewing my dead skin cells, I’m cool with them on my cheese. At least you can’t see them; unlike maggots.

You can still buy cheese made from mills in a village in Germany. As for as I know is it the only place where it is produced and sold. It is called Milbenkäse and is produced in Würchwitz. They have a monument for the mills there as well…

Sadly, mites wouldn’t be popular in movies again until 1975, with the release of Dolemite.
