  1. Every time I see this video on a page or linked to, I watch the whole thing. It’s pretty much my favorite thing the internet has generated. Sometime people tell me it’s cheapened by the corporate sponsor – but I doubt that. It’s just awesome, and silly dancing, and laughing. And those things make the world better.

  2. The airspace over Nevada has got to be my favourite. It’s amazing what does and doesn’t pass for dancing depending on what parts of the world you’re in.

    What — no Disneyland?

  3. It’s a fake! He recently came clean. Google it!

  4. Isn’t this video a hoax?

  5. No, it’s not a hoax. He just spoke at Macworld the day after the “hoax” thing started circulating. Funny thing is, he started it.

  6. Here’s the video where he talks about how it was made:

Still doesn’t mean it’s bad. It’s still fun and inspiring to watch regardless.

  7. People. It was NOT a hoax. Matt was JOKING, making fun of himself and people without a sense of humor thought he was serious. Go over to his website and check out the YEARS of blog entries that archive his travels.

  8. It’s not a hoax. Here’s a link from his blog and the Macworld video where he refutes the challenges and explain how it was REALLY made (that it was real):

In that “It’s a Hoax” video someone linked to above, he makes outrageous, sarcastic claims. Does anyone really believe they filmed the weightless scene underwater? He also says that all the people dancing with him are animatronic puppets. It was clearly a joke taken out of hand. :P

The viral marketing “company” that supposedly sponsored it was called “Buzz!Brain,” which does not exist. :)

Anyone who actually watched the hoax video would understand the joke, but sadly the sensationalist headlines are all the gets through

  9. No, it’s not a hoax. He was being sarcastic.

    Sarcasm = funny
People who don’t get sarcasm = funnier!

TedTalks always has a funny segment like that. They had John Hodgman a while back. Google it.

I blame emoticons for people’s inability to recognize sarcasm or satire in a text/speech. Perhaps Matt should have just yelled “Semi-colon-hyphen-parenthesis!!!” at the end, for those who were unable to read between the lines.

  10. If only the whole world could dance together. It would be a far better place to live.

  11. No matter how many times I see this, I smile every time. This video is pure joy.

  12. Hi Barb-

Avoiding Aol – too many glitches -just a quick Sunday Hi-

Words awlie me– My NY Giant (heavily favored to win) got their butts kicked and lost. Remember my analysis a few days ago about them. they’d either be great or stink up the joint–they really stunk it up-Go Chargers!!!! ;-)

  13. Greatest video EVER.

  14. Actually, it’s funny that you mention that, SaskieinMuskokee.

Two years ago, at my high school’s graduation ceremony, my dear, old English teacher read a list of words that defined the graduating class, as suggested by the students. As she reached the end of the list, she read one final note card: “Promising. Colon-parenthesis.” I still don’t think she understands what was so funny.

  15. Here’s a story about how difficult it was to get the vomit comet clip.

  16. I have to meet this guy!!
