Love, love, love the timed quizzes. Please keep them coming – something about the combination of the seconds counting down and entering guesses into a text box is terribly satisfying.
– Eric, in a comment under Stacy’s Clue quizJason, is there any way to use these daily book giveaways to generate free content for the blog and perhaps uncover a few brilliant quiz writers while we’re at it?
– The voice inside my head
We’ve got four copies of Cormac O’Brien’s Secret Lives of the U.S. Presidents to give away (thanks to the fine folks at Chronicle Books). To win one, you’ll have to prove your prowess as a quizmaster—a name-x-in-y-minutes quizmaster. If you’re new around here or aren’t familiar with the format, I’m talking about quizzes like Name all the Presidents in 8 Minutes or Name the Cast of Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! in 2 Minutes.
Today’s giveaway will have four winners, and for the rest of the week, we’ll run one reader-submitted ‘name x in y minutes’ quiz each afternoon. If you want to own a fascinating book and to see your name in lights (well, in 12-point type under the quiz banner), give us your best quiz idea below. Good luck!

I agree with others who have requested, perhaps even begged, for more of these kinds of quizzes.
I don’t know what it is about filling in random facts linked by a common bond into a cute little text box, all the while a coy little counter ticks away to either a victorious smiley face or that sad ‘better luck next time’ frown that practically begs you to come back and test your timed test-taking skills and indulge your need to satisfy that love for pop culture and all things trivia one more time…or many.
Keep them coming, I beg you! Well…at least enthusiastically endorse the future creation of.
