I used to work in a well respected job in the public service (girls loved the uniform). Despite being very good at my job, my contract was not renewed by my (acting) supervisor and given to a young girl. After feeling sorry for myself I decided to start my own business and just five years later I am making over 100 times the money my supervisor was making. If you ever get fired just start your own business and stick it up your boss.

I was an accountant with Arthur Andersen, and was fired years ago (1996). Look at them now! HA!

Ray Romano was fired from Newsradio. He was originally cast as the electrician/handyman. He didn’t make it past the table read and Joe Rogan ended up with the role.

Jesus I am so sick of seeing this brought up over and over again, Bill was still the Browns coach when Modell decided to move the team, he wasnt fired as the Browns coach. I hear all the time about how Cleveland fired him, with 5 games left in the year Modell made the decision to move, Bill was kept throughout the entire season and was fired after the move was underway.

Opie and Anthony have a better firing record than Stern. They got fired from WAAF in Boston for an April Fools joke, telling everyone the Mayor died in a plane crash. After that, they moved to WNEW in New York (bigger market) and later were fired for the Sex for Sam incident. They are currently on XM/Sirius radio and CBS FM at the same time.

According to an article on the NPR website, Annabelle Gurwitch’s “Fired” was a one-woman off-Broadway play before she wrote the book.
