Flossing with Twitter
by Stacy Conradt - February 9, 2009 - 12:23 PM

twitterA few of us writers here at the _floss have been exploring Twitter to see if it’s a worthwhile tool for us to use with the blog. The answer: we don’t know. Sometimes we’re pretty interesting (Higgins has a book coming out!) and sometimes we’re not (I’ve taken a cue from Wil Wheaton and have stopped thinking of my iPod as an inanimate object).

But we’re out there if you’d like to follow us:

As always, we’re open to suggestions! And I’m open to hearing about anyone you think I should be following. I’m kind of fascinated by Shaq, Diablo Cody and Seth MacFarlane (apparently his Quagmire voice scares children… go figure).

  1. Twitter is a hassle; I tried it for several months and quit using it because it’s not unique. (Remixed Facebook status, anyone?)

So, good luck…but I’m way over Twitter.

  2. I considered following the Dalai Lama yesterday but decided that sounded like I was a Buddhist. Today his Twitter account has been suspended -probably for having too many followers!

  3. I dig the Haunted Mansion wallpaper.

  4. Thanks :)

  5. Personally, I find most things connected to Wil Wheaton to be interesting…or, at least, deeply entertaining.

    GEEK LOVE!

  6. Truly geek worthy twitter to follow:

Neil Gaiman, who posts clever and interesting tidbits there as well as on his blog.

  7. I love twitter! I share mentalfloss links with my followers all of the time! It’s different than facebook status. It about sharing of info too! I try that with facebook but its too overwhelming. I hope you keep using twitter since I don’t forsee its popularity diminishing anytime soon.

  8. Miss C – would looking like a Buddhist be a bad thing?

  9. Woot for twitter

  10. Woot for twitter!
