I’m sure there are several in college sports. The Alabama Crimson Tide, Marshall Thundering Herd, and Stanford Cardinal come to mind.

I know little about sports, but I was oh so proud of myself for guessing Thunder and Lightening. I don’t even know what they play. Hockey?

What about college teams? There are very few (I’m inclined to say around nine). I used to work at Centenary College, whose mascot is the Gentlemen. One of the few.

and I was all set to list all those Arena Football teams like the Georgia Force, New Orleans VooDoo, Utah Blaze, and Tampa Bay Storm.

or NFLE names like the FIre and Galaxy.

or MISL teams like the Blast and Summit.

I’d suggest rewording the question to specify that only 3 of the major sports are part of the list. To say that there are 9 teams in the 4 major sports is a bit misleading since there are no nfl teams on the list.

I got them, but am embarrased to admit that I had to think for a really long time to get the last one, which happens to be the local hockey team here in Saint Paul. Oops.
