Reuters is reporting that a death-row inmate, who’s been held in solitary confinement in Vietnam for the last year, is pregnant?! Vietnamese authorities are completely baffled, particularly because the inmate’s husband is being held under similar conditions in a jail cell in a different province. Theories of immaculate conception aren’t exactly surfacing, though. Maybe that’s because she’s been charged with trafficking over a billion dong (over 600 grams) of heroin.
