Even if you’re not a fan of old movies, you know the names – Greta Garbo, Jean Harlow, Errol Flynn, William Holden. But can you identify them in a picture? It’s more challenging than you think (although there are a couple of easy ones in there).
Take the Quiz: Star Search
90%!!! Only missed two. Joan Crawford and Lana Turner. Joan Crawford surprised me. She was really pretty once upon a time. Wonder what happened? I’ve seen many of her movies and couldn’t understand why men found her so irresitable.

19. Missed Valentino, on a close call. Some good pix, like Gable w/out the mustache, the Niven looked like Errol Flynn or Olivier.

Got all 20, but had to guess on 3 or 4 of the women. I had no idea it was Norma Shearer, but I knew it wasn’t the other guesses. Lana Turner was another guess. I knew Joan Crawford since I have seen some of her early photos before. I was worried that Valentino might have been Buster Keaton who was also a handsome man. I got lucky.

20 for 20! (But I like old films.) I had the honor of meeting Claudette Colbert when she acted in a play in Baltimore in the 1970′s. She still looked like she did in “It Happened One Night.” I remember how gracious she was to us “fans” gathered at the stage door for her autograph. She was touched that we remembered her films. She chatted with everyone like we were old friends–how she enjoyed living in the Bahamas and doing oil paintings. I will always remember her with affection.

20 for 20 here too though the Crawford picture made me hesitate for a moment. More quizzes like this please!

I am still rather proud of my 70%, despite being outscored by all the other commenters. ;)
