Many readers commented that they enjoyed the “movie quote” Brain Game we offered about a month ago, so we’re bringing it back as an occasional entry. Thanks for your input!

A few years ago, the American Film Institute published a list of what they considered to be the top 100 film quotes of all-time. Here are two entries from that list, with all their punctuation and vowels removed and the remaining letters squashed together (but still in their original order). Just to be clear, for the purposes of this puzzle, vowels are A, E, I, O, and U.

Can you identify both of today’s quotes and the names of the hit films in which they appeared? Good luck!

  1. Good ones….I had trouble with 1….2 was a sinch…..although, if Y is considered a vowel, should you have omitted it in PNTHPDBYDRSHL?

    ED NOTE: You’re absolutely right, Ian… I’ve adjusted the intro to not include “Y” as a vowel. Thanks!
