I would like to get that hover board for my birthday, on october 26th. I will be nine years old and I believe it really flies like on back to the future.

Hasn't anybody seen the Mythbusters when they built their own hoverboards?

Jamie Hyneman tried to convert a surfboard into a hovercraft, complete w/ air skirt and fans (converted leafblowers I think). The other guy built one of plywood, and it hurt his performance.

Actually the documentary on the Back to the Future Trilogy is not mock at all. It explains about Zemeckis pulling that prank and how he got a lot of flak from parents and kids with high hopes. And the narration over the "mockumentary" is explaining the whole gag the entire time. Just saying.

And Jury duty is like taxes. No one WANTS to pay them, but we do because we know we should. (And some of us pay because we don't want the IRS on our tails)

@ Bryan:
If that's the case, never commit a crime that warrants a trial by jury.

I wouldn't want anyone on my jury who wasn't smart enough to get out of jury duty.

Oh, dlm! I hope you realize that at least some of the book is written with tongue firmly planted in cheek... We don't really want people to avoid jury duty, in the same way that we don't really want people to Sell Their Kidneys or Journey to the Center of the Earth. The facts in the book are all based on science or historical anecdotes of how people did or tried to do these things, but it's a book for knowledge lovers, not people who really think they're going to come out of the experience Performing Their Own Surgeries and Making Zombies.

I just read the cover of this book. Getting out of jury duty is not a way to "Be Amazing". Jury duty is a right and privilege. It is an opportunity to be part of the most fair judicial system in the world. Shame on Mental Floss.
