1) My favorite Onion headline turned out to be tragically prescient: “George W. Bush wins; Our long national nightmare of peace and prosperity is at an end.”
2) http://www.freepoverty.com is another geography game, but the points you earn are matched by a charitable donation to the UN to provide clean drinking water to Africa. Test your geography skills and do some good, too!
3) In the town of Warm Springs, in Bath County, VA, are the Jefferson Pools. Google them — they were built in the 1700s and soaked in not only by our nation’s third president, but he also sent Sally Hemings there to take the waters as well. Lovely to look at, wonderful to soak in.
