Being underinsured can be as disastrous as being uninsured when a health crisis hits. Half of all bankruptcies are due to medical costs, and three-quarters of those are people with health insurance.

  1. Just a small reminder, it’s Daylight Saving Time. There is no ‘s’ after the word Saving.

  2. The UK changes theirs on the 29th this year. I’ve been out of America for a while, but has the date been moved up over there?

  3. They expanded DST two years ago, supposedly for energy savings, but I’ve seen studies that say it doesn’t make a difference.

  4. This whole health insurance thing makes a EVEN MORE grateful I live in Canada!

  5. “Half of all bankruptcies” are *due to* medical costs?

According to an ’05 study, “about half of all individuals filing for personal bankruptcy cite medical expenses as one of the major causes.”
“One of the major causes” is a damn sight different that “due to.”
Google search on “half of all bankruptcies are due to medical costs” and click the “Healthcare Economist” link for my source.

  6. I’ve been trying very long to understand Daylight Savings but I just can’t. I’m 20 and I live in Arizona, I lived here my whole life. We don’t have DST and I learned about it ONCE in school. I just don’t understand how it is to be done. Why do people need it? If Arizona can deal without it, why not everyone else?

Also, I never know when it is or how you are supposed to switch your clock. Can you imagine what a predicament I’d in if I moved to other state?

  7. @ditzen,

Most of us in the states that do honor DST don’t know when to switch our clocks. We go by the news tells us, and usually don’t find out about it until a week before.

  8. I live in Indiana, where we changed to DST a few years ago. Really, it’s not difficult to understand what to do after the first time – but people are still complaining about how hard it is and how it’s the dumbest thing ever, and it’s funny. Honestly, it doesn’t make a difference to me whether we do it or not, but it’s nice in the fall when we gain an hour.

  9. This game is absolutely INSANE!!!!!!! I’ve made it to Round 13 and I CAN’T STOP!!! :) :)
