The writer of the issue that brought Elektra back to life was the same as the one who killed her off, Frank Miller. It was not another writer who brought her back so I'm not sure what you mean when you say Miller wanted to maintain the power of her death.

My friend's son watched the avengers show, and apperantly wasp was part of the group. She died fighting a evil alien robot because it shot her in the back when she got angry at the atom. Good riddance.

I consider Dr. Who a super hero, and they just regenerate him to kill him off. So much easier.

When talking about comics, it would probably be easier to write an article about heroes who HAVEN'T died and been resurrected! I don't follow Marvel, but of the top of my head DC has killed and brought back Superman, Supergirl, Batman, Robin, The Flash, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, The Atom, Hawkman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Metamorpho, Red Tornado, Martian Manhunter, Animal Man, and probably several others I'm forgetting.

@Lugh - um, the first year of Alpha Flight was written by the team's (co?)creator, JOHN BYRNE, not Jack Kirby.

Dupli-Kate - the multiplier fake-out death was used years earlier, in X-Factor's 90s run, when Jamie Madrox the Multiple Man wsa diagnosed with the AIDS-like Legacy Virus. A few years later, it was revealed that one of his dupes had been working with the team and died, and the "original Jamie" was completely fine. I think Peter David revealed Jamie had several duplicates in the current 2000's run that he'd lost track of over the years. One was a family man and preacher, who he finally decided not to reabsorb or something?

Another Legacy Virus survivor was Illyana Rasputin aka Magik aka Colossus' little sister. Seeing as she was magickally aged from a brief time spent in the demonic realm of Limbo, they merely recovered her younger self.

Meanwhile, the character of Abyss, first introduced in the Age of Apocalypse alternate reality, has died from the Legacy Virus at least twice, and other means since. His first appearance in the 616 was in Cable as a sickly child who died the very next issue. Several years later, he turned up alive, only to die of the Legacy again. He appeared a third time, when Nightcrawler's supposed demon dad Azazel appeared, and was revealed to be Kurt's half-bro...until the whole storyline was immediately dropped and the demonic refugee brother Abyss was quietly shuffled off into comics limbo once more!

I know of Wolverine dying twice. On one occasion it turned out that it was actually a skrull impersonator that replaced him while he was being brainwashed by Apocolypse.
The second time I think he was shot dead by countless rounds of bullets. He then had a near death experience where he met Rose, his first love, and then came to within the next few hours. It was explained that it just took his healing factor a long time to fix all that had happened.

Lightning Lad didn't get resurrected two months later. It was more like a year later. In the meantime, his sister "Light Lass" had impersonated him.

Don't forget Cobra Commander, Green Arrow, Bruce Wayne, Aquaman, oh hell, death in comic books is as common as the flu. And it doesn't even last as long. How long until Marvel finally gives in totally and just brings back Spidey's Uncle Ben and the Punisher's family?

While it may be a minor gripe you got a minor fact wrong about Dupli-kate, she was never romantically involved with Invincible but another hero from the book the Immortal.
