Neely Harris, editor-in-chief of mental_floss magazine, snapped this picture in a Birmingham Barnes & Noble yesterday. If you work for a big chain that sells books, help run an independent bookstore, or are a librarian with display-arranging privileges, we’d obviously love for you to do something similar with our ’25 Most Influential Books of the Past 25 Years’ issue. If you do, send us a photo and we’ll give your store/library a plug to return the favor.
In other ’25 Books’ news, Rosemary Ahern, who wrote the cover story, was recently interviewed by Kathleen Dunn on Wisconsin Public Radio. You can go to WPR.org and have a listen.
Well, I don’t work in a bookstore, but I can tell you that my Amazon wishlist very quickly resembled that display photo. Any of the “25″ that I hadn’t already read went on my list. Want a screen shot of that? :)
(I ordered four books right away, received them the next day, and just finished “Nickel and Dimed.” Which to devour next…)

I work for B&N in Orlando, FL and I set a big display for this issue and books the moment in came in, but I’ve been told by my bosses that I’m not allowed to take pictures. B&N is kind of strict about that. But I assure it, the books are selling very well! Thanks Mental_Floss!

Stephanie, drop the amazon list and head to your local indie bookstore to get your books. Do your part to keep your community vibrant and healthy. Unless you want to live in a place with nothing to do, and nowhere to go except online.

Uh, very nice, but there are only fourteen books actually displayed. :)
