"...in fact, rather than trying to overthrow Diaz’s government, he was at great pains to make sure it continued to pay his scholarship."

Typical Communist and more reason for me to not have any respect for them.

In fact, a sombrero is any hat, not a specific style of hat; just like "amigo" means friend, not a "mexican friend".

So, in spanish we have "sombrero fedora", while the "baret" is actually a cap.

I like Diego, but Siqueiros had more interesting anecdotes.

Good article.

But I just couldn't help thinking of the episode of "The Critic" where Jay Sherman's dad smashes through "Guernica" in a monster truck and yells, "Take that, Guernica!" You can find a video clip if you search a certain site for "Pablo Picasso vs Franklin Sherman". Very funny.

Also it seems that using the word "sombrero" is fine as it brings to mind a specific style of hat, like "fedora" or "beret".

Yes, they misspelled Zapata. But what's wrong with the way they used "sombrero"??

Interesting article even when art is not one of my main interests.
And I don't want to be annoying but, Sombrero = Hat and it's Emiliano Zapata with an "A".
