Cladius REALLY died from choking to death on a feather. True, his wife DID give him poisonus mushrooms, but then she reconsidered and called the royal physician, who tried to make him throw up by tickling the inside of his throat with a feather, which the emperor then choked to death on.

I don't recall this, but when I was about 4, my mom caught me merrily chomping on the end of a poisonous plant. Freaking out, she gave me ipecac to bring it up. Five minutes later, as my tiny toddler self puked in a bowl, my mom saw the source of the "poison" - harmless clover from our yard. Apparently my mom felt so bad I got ice cream for dinner for the next two days.
