I was just reading the 911 article on cracked yesterday. As a regular follower of both cracked and the _floss, I’m very appreciative of the level of comments on the _floss. While I enjoy cracked’s articles, its comment section reads like evidence in an argument for eugenics. So thank you flossers and flossy bloggers for mainting both entertaining _and_ intelligent discourse.

Agree, agree, agree!
I go to cracked for the quick laugh…but the comments?
Good God. Honestly they’re just terrible.

Okay, I’m a religious M*A*S*H watcher. I watched it when I was a kid, now I watch reruns on DVD as a matter of habit. The whole family does. It’s not on that map. And it was filmed in California, not Korea. So what gives?

Stacy, the map doesn’t have anything to do with where the shows were filmed, but where they were set.

I agree people call 911 for a lot of crazy things, but in some cities it’s the only place you can call for non-emergency situations. When we lived in Toledo OH I tried to call the police station once because somebody had parked blocking my driveway. After calling a couple of numbers to find out who to call about it they told me to call 911 for things like that. I said “You’re kidding right?” They said to tell them it is not an emergency. So for some places that’s the only place you can call for loud parties and the like.

Speaking of the sitcom maps, a couple of months ago I discovered a goldmine for rabid Simpsons fans like me – an interactive map showing the layout of Springfield. Click on my name to see it or search for “map of springfield” on Google.

Man, the South is underrepresented on the sit-com map. Nothing in Tennessee at all.
That story about the abortion was definitely intriguing. What a horrible situation for all.
And I second the Cracked’s comment section. I’m not snarky enough for them…
