First off I would definetly like to say good job. You brought up some interesting facts and good things to think about.
Though I do no appreciate you giving opinions to wrap up certain topics. For example, you say, "So anything the Romans liked that much was bound to be an instant hit with the early American Republic, as Mills no doubt knew.)." This is obviously an opionion. The American people did not have anything to do with our Republic. This was in the hands of the leaders who wrote The Constitution bases on the ancient Egyptian empire and of course the fall of the Roman Empire. Therefore, the founding fathers had a deep connection with the Romans. This is why an obelisk was used. Anways, not that serious but worth mentioning.

Secondly, when talking about the chosen location of the monument you say, "that’s all based off arcane symbology, esoteric Freemasonry, astronomy, and over-learned gibberish. So forget it." I do not know why we would call freemasonry and astronomy over-learned gibberish. It sounds like you do not understand these things and it is easier for you to simply dismiss them rather then seek the truth. one cannot dismiss thee apparent symbology of Washington DC without seeing the connection to esoteric knowledge like freemasonry. Anyways, well written.

Actually the San Jacinto monument in La Porte Texas is 570 feet tall. I think most of the last 15 feet might consist of the giant star on the top, nonetheless it is taller than the Washington Monument.

It takes a special breed of crazy to steal a brick and drown it. That being said, I would've done the same thing.

A line on the monument can be seen where contruction was interrupted for so many years because when building was resumed in 1880, stone from the original quarry was no longer available.
