Edison all the way!! I bet most of the Tesla voters are either Serbian chauvinists or conspiracy theorists. If not for my optional physics courses, I don’t think I ever would have heard of Tesla until well after high school; and then through technical pursuits.

Edison never “stole” anything. He thought Tesla was a good employee and remembered the promised “bonus” as an exorbitant sum he’d thrown out as a joke that Tesla apparently hadn’t understood to be a joke.

Tesla was a great engineer, but today is unfortunately remembered more in mythology than in history. The patents are his work – the other things you and others erroneously attribute to him (both the real inventions actually invented by others and the imaginary inventions) are pure fantasy. Furthermore some of his “inventions” (like the induction coil or the 3 phase AC) predate his work on them by MANY years. Was he a “thief” as well?

Edison is like Jamie in Myth busters.

Sure he’s cool when playing with build it yourself kits but if it werent for the other guy we all know he’d be dead.

To add to Tesla’s coolness (if that’s even possible), we should remember he was portrayed by the great David Bowie in the 2006 film, “The Prestige”.

(er, um… maybe that doesn’t exactly add to his coolness… but he’s still better than Edison!)

Tesla was insane, vote is for him.

At the 1893 World’s Fair, Tesla won the contract to light it. Edison denied the use of his bulb, Tesla just made his own.
