Happy Friday! To celebrate the end of the business workweek, a somewhat easier puzzle. Enjoy!
I was perusing some alt.binaries online newsgroups recently and saw this request from some guy named Bob3465. (Okay, I didn’t, but humor me.) What did Bob3465 want?
“1000 1 1000 1 100 on 500 5 500,
or 500 1 5 10, or even 10 5 1 500.”
Here is the SOLUTION.
Being an embedded electronics engineer, I was excited to see the words “binary” in the introduction. However, I feel obligated to inform you that the number 5 would not appear in a binary message.
Do more of those word transformations like Fool->Wars!

Not sure what he wants, but he *needs* a girlfriend.

I’m with EE Joel – not very “binary”!

Nice! Actually got this one… rather quick and fun :) On a rainy friday, it’s right on par with my brain capacity.

The “binary” has to do with the type of newsgroup, not the request.
Binary newsgroups (alt.binaries.xxxx) are used to upload files to be shared, so you’ll often see readers request that someone else upload a particular album, movie, picture, software package, or whatever. These newsgroups are set up to take binary files, whereas most other newsgroups are intended strictly for text messages.

This one was almost like a bad pun. I got it as soon as I made myself stop making 1000 into “K”.
