  1. When you make your next grilled cheese, try putting mayonaise on the bread instead of butter. It grills up golden brown and delicious. I like one that is flavored with Tabasco sauce. And it has to be real mayonaise, not salad dressing or lite mayo.

  2. Miss C – on the SNL post, all the videos are broken (taken down by NBC), and commenters are sad. :( Maybe we shouldn’t link to it for now?

  3. Figures. Yeah, no use in being a tease!

  4. Love the Sound of Music takeover! A few years ago, some friends and I were in San Francisco in a hotel shuttle, and Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart” came on the bus radio. Suddenly, everyone (and the shuttle bus was packed – probably 20-25 people) started belting out the song…harmonies and all! It’s one of my best memories from that trip.

So would this be a “flash mob”?

  5. The Sound of Music thing looks like it was a publicity stunt for a show in the Netherlands looking for the next person to play Maria in some major production. They’re done shows for Joseph and Evita too. In any case, I absolutely loved it.

  6. My favourite unfortunate political photo can be found by following the link on my name. For context, the person whose face you can see is the former Australian treasurer, the other is the former prime minister.

  7. a few friends and i a few years back were riding the NYC metro and broke into song. to be more specific, we sang the Pokemon opening theme song, followed by Backstreet Boys “i want it that way.” yes it was just us at first, but the “us” consisted of about twenty people. and after about 2 minutes of entertaining the other riders, a few of them joined in on the fun.
